The closing date for the latest Australia wide writing and illustrating competition for primary school aged children is fast approaching.
The competition, which closes on 30 November, calls for a short story (no more than 800 words), or three A4 illustrations, with the winner of each category be paired together and mentored, to produce a book – published in hard copy by Boogie Books and distributed by Child Writes – with royalties being paid to the author and illustrator from any book sales.
Queensland-based children’s writing organisation Child Writes is facilitating the competition and is well known for its advocacy for literacy and ability to empower children.
Having worked with dozens of schools, mainly within Queensland, and supported the production of over 250 books written by children, Child Writes is looking forward to a new influx of talent around the country.
We would greatly appreciate any assistance in communicating this competition to your students.
I would be more than happy to discuss the competition with you should you like more information. Please don't hesitate to contact me on 0438 990 211.
